She is the first black woman in history of Panama that occupies the presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Maxima instance in the structure of the administration of justice in the country. Graciela Dixon had eight years like Magistrate. This lawyer from Colon, withdrawn of the Faculty of Right of the University of Panama in 1978, and from her student years she was social fighter who does not deny her past, that is reaffirmed in its convictions.
Daughter of John Donald Dixon and Janette Clair Caton (keyton), was born in City of Colon and its childhood lived it in 8 street, between the avenue Melendez and Santa Isabel. It made his primary school in the catholic school San Vicente de Paul and her secondary studies at the Abel´s Bravo HighSchool. She got married with Humberto Cerrud and is mother of Graciela Libertad.
Granddaughter of grenadines emigrants, found in her adolescence a professor who would mark her entire life: Alfred Rowe teaches to be pride of the color of her skin and to maintain the self-esteem. We are black and we are beautiful, we are black and we are intelligent.
At her office, on her back have the emblem that defines her: a photo of Martin Luther King the defender of the black civil rights and whose shade it grew. Dixon gained the election with the votes of the magistrates Jose Troyano, Jorge Federico Lee, Emerald of Troitiño and Adam Arnulfo Arjona. Whereas his adversary, Aníbal Salas, received the endorsement of Arturo magistrates Holes, Alberto Cigarruista and Winston Spadafora.
